AboColin Potter - 1965-2006ut Colin Potter

Colin Potter passed away on January 18th 2006, at the age of 40 only weeks after being diagnosed with an aggressive cancer.  Colin was a family man, very popular with his friends, and had a great rapport with his work colleagues at Rolls Royce in Derby.

"The Colin Potter Memorial 10k" race is held annually in memory of Colin and to raise money for local charities.  In 2016, over £3000 was donated and shared equally between the following charities:

In total over £30,000 has been donated to deserving charities over the last 10 years. A big thank you to everyone who's been involved and kindly donated or taken part in the event.

There's an added incentive to participate in the race; the family of Colin Potter kindly donate £50 to the first male and female across the finish line in the prize giving of each memorial race.

This years event is on Friday 7th July 2017 starting and finishing at Haslams, home of Derby Rugby club.  Come along, take part and bring the whole family down to enjoy the friendliest 10k race on the Derby circuit.

Letter from Bradley, April 2014

Thank you

Me and Dad just 6weeks before he died at Centre Parcs.

Hi I’m Bradley Colin’s Youngest Son. I was only 3 years old when my Dad died of Cancer. Sadly I can’t really remember a lot about him or the things we did together, but thanks to all my Dad’s friends starting the COLIN POTTER 10K I have always had this special event to look forward to and remember him by.

My Mum, all of the family and myself would like to say a huge thank-you to everyone that Organises, Sponsors, Volunteers and most importantly takes part in the Race each year. Without all of you we wouldn’t have been able to raise all the money for the Cancer and Bereavement Charities a massive £21,000 over the last 7 years that’s amazing!!!

Bradley, 2014

I’m 12 this year, my 8th year coming to the Race and it’s still going strong. It’s great and don’t forget there is also a fifty pound prize each for the first Male and Female across the finish line so Please.... KEEP COMING and KEEP RUNNING!!

Thanks for entering and good luck Ps Don’t forget to bring all the family with you it’s good fun for them too.
